GATE 2014 Counselling Dates and Procedure

In this post, we will discuss the common procedure for GATE 2014 counselling.

- GATE counselling is usually conducted individually by each participating organization including IITs, NITs, IIITs and other colleges.
- The institute issues a public notification in the newspapers for admission in post-graduation courses through GATE score card.
- Candidates, who are interested in the advertisement, may apply for the admission given that they possess a valid GATE score card with the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the particular institute in its advertisment.
- Once the application process is finished, the college shorts out the applications based on the GATE score and eligibility and then, the selected candidates are called upon for the counselling.
- GATE counselling may involve a written test followed by interview rounds. The selection procedure is decided by the particular institute and it may or may not vary from other counselling procedures.
- GATE counselling is mandatory for those seeking admission in one of the enginnering colleges in India for post-graduation course.
- NITs and some IIITs allow admission through CCMT counselling after GATE exam.

GATE 2014 cutoff

GATE 2014 exam was conducted from February 02 to March 01 for admission of engineers in post-graduation courses and also in PSUs. GATE 2014 exam result is going to be announced on March 28.

GATE 2014 cutoff will also be revealed along with the GATE result the same day. Though the official GATE cutoff is not yet been released, we here bring you the GATE 2014 Expected Cutoff for different branches.

Candidates must notice that this table displays only the expected cutoff marks for GATE 2014 exam. For actual GATE 2014 cutoff, you still need to wait for 28th March.

According to the above table, the expected GATE 2014 cutoff is slightly more this year than that of last year. Still, we advise candidates to wait for the final result to know the actual cutoff.

This table also shows the expected marks for toppers. These marks are also based on the previous years' cutoff marks.

GATE 2014 Result to be declared on March 28

Results for GATE 2014 exam, which was conducted in between 1st February and 2nd March 2014, will be announced on March 28, 2014.

GATE exam conducting organization IIT Khargpur (gate.iitkgp.ac.in) has announced on their official website that the GATE 2014 result will declared on 28 march 10:00 Hrs. All students, who appeared in the GATE exam this year for admission in PG courses in Engineering and also for PSU jobs, will get their results by the end of March 2014.

The GATE score card will be valid for two years.That means, students can use their GATE score card for two years. As soon as the GATE result is declared, students can check the result at the official website using their Registration No or their Email Id.

• GATE scorecard will be issued only to those students, whose marks are equal to or greater than the qualifying marks of SC/ST/PD candidates in a particular paper.
• GATE card will be valid for two years.
